By placing an order with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions below. Payment of goods shall in itself constitute an acceptance and agreement of these terms and conditions.

1. Orders:

We accept orders and delivery dates are conditional on being able to secure the goods. We cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.

2. Delivery

We offer a subsidised delivery service between Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. We cannot provide a precise delivery time as it is subject to traffic and supplier delays. Deliveries are made by palletised tail lift to the nearest and safest hard standing point to the property. Goods cannot be brought into the property and must be handled by site personnel only. If the delivery cannot be made Big Tiles Ltd reserves the right to pass any redelivery costs to the buyer before any further delivery can be attempted. Please allow 4-6 weeks for deliveries from Europe, Big Tiles Ltd are not responsible for any delays or financial penalties that may incur with deliveries from Europe.

Whilst every effort will be made to deliver your product to the nearest available delivery point, hazards or obstructions e.g. steps, lifts, uneven or gravel paths/driveways may necessitate the delivery being made to an alternative location nearest to the delivery vehicle.

Orders are delivered by various means, usually by Tail lift vehicle. Due to insurance and health and safety regulations, we are unable to transport goods into a Customer’s property. 95% of our deliveries will arrive on a pallet and will be delivered to the nearest accessible location (Kerbside Delivery*). If goods are delivered on a pallet – the items on the pallet will not be broken down or discharged by the delivering driver.

3. Damaged Goods

Any errors on delivery, breakages or shortages must be reported within 24 hours in writing. If goods are damaged, photographic evidence must be provided to hello@bigtiles.co.uk. Please note that once you have signed for the delivery, you have no claim against the carrier or Big Tiles Ltd. If delivery is refused and the buyer does not notify Big Tiles Ltd accordingly, Big Tiles Ltd shall have no liability for defects or failure. The buyer shall be bound to pay the price as if the goods have been delivered in accordance with the contract.

4. Pricing

All prices quoted are valid for 28days.

5. Claims

Please ensure that you have checked that the correct tiles have been delivered. Before fixing the buyer should ensure that they are satisfied that the goods supplied are correct to the original order. No claims can be considered after the materials have been fixed. Fixing of tiles constitutes acceptance of quality, Big Tiles Ltd accepts no liability for faulty installation work. Liability is limited to replacement of faulty items or a refund of their cost and excludes any consequential loss, including the cost of removal and refixing.

6. Cancellations

The buyer can cancel their order within 7 days of placement of order. Cancellations must be in writing. If the order is cancelled after the buyer has received the order the goods must be returned to Big Tiles Ltd, the cost of returning the goods is the responsibility of the buyer. The goods must arrive back in a resalable condition, the buyer must ensure that the packaging is suitable for the safe return of the product. The cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.

7. Returns

Returns within 30 days of delivery of our own materials correctly supplied are subject a handling charge of 25% plus any repatriation carriage charges.
Returns within 30 days of delivery of special-order items correctly supplied are subject to the supplier’s terms and conditions, which may incur up to a 35% handling charge plus any repatriation carriage charges. We cannot accept returns of sale items.
Bespoke finished products cannot be returned, and you have 48 hours to cancel your order. Your statutory rights for damaged goods are unaffected. Returns must be made in undamaged full boxes with undamaged tiles.

8. Samples

Please note that samples may not be representative of the full tile due to the nature that a sample is only a small piece of a larger tile, or the article may have significant variation.

9. Online Imagery

Product images displayed on our website may not always accurately represent the actual product due to various factors, such as differences in lighting, camera settings, monitor calibrations, and individual product characteristics. We cannot guarantee that the colour, texture, pattern, or other visual elements of the product will exactly match what you see on our website. We advise our customers to request a physical sample of the product before placing an order, especially if colour or texture is of particular importance.

10. Guarantee

We can only be held responsible for failures on materials supplied to the extent of the manufacturer’s guarantee. No tiles are guaranteed against crazing or shade variation. The supply of goods does not mean that they are suitable for a specific installation. Big Tiles Ltd can only be held responsible for any failure against product supplied, to the extent that the manufacturer of such product is prepared to guarantee the same. No tiles are guaranteed against chipping or missuse.

11. Quantities

Whilst we endeavour to be as accurate as possible when calculating quantities from measurements supplied, we cannot be held responsible for over or under ordering. All calculations are for estimate purposes only and must be checked by an installer prior to ordering. A 15% wastage is required on all tile orders. Any under order can result in delays and additional costs if the extra tiles have to come from Europe. There is no guarantee that the extra tiles will be the same batch as the previous order. Big Tiles Ltd are not responsible for any additional costs incurred due to under ordering or breakages.

12. Nominal Sizing

Our advertised tile sizes are referred to as “nominal sizes”, which are approximate sizes. Although our tiles are calibrated in the factory to meet industry standards, there may be slight variations in actual sizing from production to production. While we strive to provide the most accurate nominal sizes possible, we cannot guarantee that the actual size of the tile will always match the nominal size.

13. Batch Variation

Please note that tiles are calibrated in the factory, but there may still be slight variations in size between production to production, known as batches. Additionally, tiles may also vary in colour, shade, and texture between batches. Therefore, we will only provide tiles from a single batch unless there has been prior discussion. Itis recommended to order enough tiles from the same batch to ensure consistency in size, colour, shade, and texture. Any fault, quality or shading issue with the tiles supplied remains the responsibility of the manufacturer. Big Tiles Ltd will accept no responsibility for further or subsequent loss or expense if the tiles are faulty or not to the acceptance of the buyer. Any issues will be passed to the manufacturer, whereby any claims will become solely the manufacturers liability. Disclaimers or notes printed on boxes or packaging will become the responsibility of the buyer to read and accept prior to use or fixing.

14. Large Format Installation

Due to the nature of porcelain tile production, large format tiles tend to not be perfectly flat. As per EU standards, there is a tolerance of 0.5% of the tile size for bowing or warping. Therefore, for tiles with any dimension over 600mm, we strongly recommend using an installation levelling system to mitigate any bowing of the tiles and ensure a flat and even installation. We only recommend a maximum of 1/3 overlap for any brick bonding of tiles to mitigate this variance.

15. Ownership

Goods supplied remain the property of Big Tiles Ltd until payment for all goods has been made in full. However, the risk of goods passes to the customer once they are handed over to a third-party carrier.
